Is that a brand name? Like Viking 1600 elevator phone?

I don't see any manufacturer called EMS that makes these phones.

Try searching Wurtec Elevator phone, the board inside the phone probably says EMS on it.

If it is phone line powered then probably EMS, part of janus. However, sold by Wurtec. The board shouls have "electronic microsystems" name on it
If it has a separate power supply/transformer then a Wurtec phone.

EMS only made red box phones for Wurtec. The only other red phone I know of is Viking but this does not look like the ones I am familiar with

Is that the red phone that has a 9 volt battery inside?
When the battery depletes, the phone won't dial out although the phone line is good. Learned that the harder way.
