I have experienced a problem of loss of communication to the group on a four car group intermittently. each car has lost communication at least once. the led in the group controller goes out and car no longer responds to hall calls. The only parameter that has been corrupted and needs to be reset is the car label. has anyone experienced this situation?

I have experienced this issue before and it was related to a bad battery connection on the CGP board (the middle board in the IMC swing panel). However, it only affected the one car and not all the cars in the group. There must be some common communication problem within the group if it's happening to all the cars randomly. You can plug into the group and go to the Diagnostics screeen (F11) and choose Network Status to veiw communication status to the group and each individual car. I have seen poor communication if the system is not bonded well or if the communication line are not run in a separate conduit. Good Luck!

Yes...Lift-Tech is correct. If I am not mistaken, that battery that he is talking about is soldered on. I have seen this happen when the bldg loses power. If you cannot purchase a new CGP brd, then you will just have to readdress the car each time the power goes out.

unfortunately readdressing the car after power failure has been our only solution, I have replaced the CGP boards in a couple of the cars and still the problem persists.
