Either an acceleration problem as you describe. (1 or 2 CRT timers, 1TR, 2TR, 3TR auxilary pnuematic timers...) Could be the 12EA needs set up..(Book says 4 volts...I generally set up 6 volts for geared and 8VDC for gearless....

Also....

Notorious for comparator trips, empty car down, from top floor, with any kind of brake drag...
