Looking to see if someone has ran across this before and what was the best practice. We have a Montgomery dry pump unit that was shutting down with low oil. The silencer had a catastrophic failure. We replaced the muffler and cleaned the valve, tank and pipes. Packing was not leaking or seeping, we did not pull the piston. Once put back together it seems to run fine and then just starts shutting down again on low oil. While pump is running and both up valves are energized the pressure is 150, close the shut off valve and it immediately goes to the relief setting of 420. Open the shut off valve and the elevator takes off for maybe two runs before doing it again. A little stumped. I wold not think that if a spring or something else was in the jack this would be the issue?
