I have been t/s a 211, and noticed that the readout on the lcd screen, will usually tell what opmode it is in, what floor etc. every once in a while, the screen will display the floor number and iii, then will go back to the floor number and IDL, or NOR which is usual. so instead of 2 IDL, it will say 2iii, then will scroll and say 2 IDL again. is this iii thing something to worry about or is it normal, i can't find any thing in the manuals about iii in the opmode codes. just wondering if this could be a sign of trouble. thanks . also one other thing is there any other situations which could cause a STLU besides the valve not working properly, or one of the hatch switches malfunctioning. I have an intermittent STLU that has happened 7 times in the last few weeks. I was there for the first time yesterday, and ran the car all day without a glitch, it came in again sometime in the night, I have tried to simulate this in various ways, but can only simulate it by opening up the valve coil circuits. I ran it all day today, thinking i would see at least some problem with the valve but it ran again without a glitch, it relevels fine, one note, it does park at the 2nd floor after about a minute , i tried relevel at the top floor, and no problems there either. My guess is something is going on with the valve, but you would think after 2 days of running it you would see something, hate to call for a new valve and have it go down again, pissing off the customer.

maxed out at 90. bypass good, it does have a low oil switch however after checking further the los parameter was set to no low oil, after setting to yes car went on los, switch was no good. mcss log was 2643. the parameter for maximum stalls on normal was 5, but with the los switch set to off the car only has to stall one time to register 2643. put new los switch, set los parameter to on, now the car will take 5 stalls to shut down. Just to try and see if it was the valve or not, i swapped main cpu with one car, and car top board with another car in the building. reset the logs, and all cars ran all day with no events logged. will check in the am to see what happens. was not paying attention to the suppressor around the coils, if they are on the main board, i guess it would follow the board. well i will keep you all posted

well, the car failed again sometime in the night, I did not get a chance to check log today, as i was busy elsewhere, however it must have stalled the 5 times to shut it down, the mechanic had to reset stlu fault. hey vince thanks for the input, i thought about the thermal when i was running the car, so i disconnected it and did get the prac fault, however, if i left it off for a while with prac on the screen, the car would not run again until prac was cleared. could not get a stlu with thermal disconnected. Maybe i did not leave it off long enough to go into stlu? can't recall, but i think the car stopped and leveled down to the next floor when opening the thermal circuit. the car does have a low oil switch and a hi and low temp switch . maybe the car is starting to heat the oil and then never turns off and gets oil to hot and that affects the valve? will check on it in the am, i think we are going to throw a valve in just to make the customer happy.
