I just had to replace a cpu and adon board ( old one was adon1, new is adon3) damaged by power surge. I’ve done adon learn and car runs on inspection and on auto for 1 run. Then I get 140n’s and 240n’s and I never get a shaft communication LED. I also get the fault for no B30 until I jump 30 to B30. There are no rear doors or rear calls. I’m think one or more lcehas/fcb boards are fried and I’m not ever completing Lon node download properly? I’ve checked all parameters and nothing seems wrong. Parameter 1-24 is set to 0. Is there a communication parameter or something like that I’m missing or is my original theory that the hall network is shot?

If memory serves me, I think you have to run a door learn before you can do a hoistway learn. although the faults you are getting indicate bad fcb boards.

That’s another thing I forgot to mention, I let the doors do there learn on the first floor, it lets me into 5-2-1, I press accept , Then I turn it to auto and then nothing. Does the lon download have to be completed successfully before it does a shaft setup or vice versa?

Does it try to shaft learn at all? You need to be just below the floor to start. Changing a CPU ive never needed to do a door learn first. A 5 7 1 wouldnt be a bad idea and the shaft communication should come up once the learn is accepted. Earthquake needs to be off as well 1-86. Also is the current number of floors correct if you try to scroll and put in a car call

What I mean is does it attempt to run and abort? Or just sits without attempting to learn at all

Shaft Learn:
Inhibit doors and landing calls
Place car on MR Inspect
Car on bottom landing with- 61:U, 30 or B30, 77:N and 77:S ON and 61N OFF
Set the value 5-2 to 1 and return to Auto.

Doesn’t try at all and it won’t let me scroll at all to put in call from cpu. I’ve done 5 7 1 many times. Earthquake is off. And I’ve tried shaft learn exactly like you say, e-man, multiple times. I’ve tried 5 7 2 as well.

With the new CPU it should only be a few paramters to start
1-3
1-23/24
1-86
1-95
Then roll call direcrion which would really only screw up top and bottom boards if its not right. The software of CPU is compatible with the drive on the car? I have seen a V316 drive give a problem with newer software

Yeah you shouldn't have to register a call. Is Drive Ok LED on?

Yes drive ok is on. It’s funny that there’s no shaft comm on but it won’t let me do a shaft learn but it will level into floor, I can cycle disconnect when it’s at floor level, it will take car calls and go where it’s supposed to(then fault out), and it will answer hall calls then fault out.

Thats strange. When you scroll it shows the proper number of landings for the job? I cant see how it would without a shaft learn and a new CPU. If roll call direction is set right you would need to check the shaft boards then.

It won’t let me scroll through floors at all but it shows what floor the cars at (1,2, or 3) after I cycle disconnect. Maybe it comes from factory with a floor scan from a simulator or test car that’s close to what I have???

Ive seen it usually just have a default number of floors. What about re loading the software. The CPU usually comes with software

Be sure roll call parameter is set correctly. I can't remember which parameter it is.
If I remember correctly there is a way to test the floor board comm with the terminating resistor on the last floor board. You take the terminating resistor from the last floor board and plug it in the first floor board in the string. Then do a LON download and see if shaft comm returns. If it does, you then take the terminating resistor and go to the second board in the string and repeat until you find your bad board.
Example for a 3 stop:

Machine Room -> [FCB1]=[FCB2]=[FCB3]=Ω
Machine Room -> [FCB1]=Ω (Leave FCB2 & 3 disconnected and do a LON download) if shaft comm returns check the next board:
Machine Room -> [FCB1]=[FCB2]=Ω (Leave FCB3 disconnected and do a LON download) see if shaft comm returns

Ω = Terminating Resistor
= Is wire connection
[FCB] = Floor comm board

Hope that makes sense. Also just curious, is it a V3F or KDL drive?
Is drive menu 6 accessible or does it vapor lock when you try to access it? (although you wouldn't think it could be a drive problem if it levels into the floor just fine)
I think you are barking up the right tree thinking a floor board could be bad.

Good luck

So I tested ,like you described VTR tech, and had to replace all lcehas & lcefcb boards. It then took a lon download and allowed a hoistway scan. Back in service.
