I have done A LOT of F4 to F5 drive upgrades and while it can go smoothly, there have been several that have gone wrong when the old elevator won’t do an NTS stop in the down direction without tripping ETS due to light counterweights, loss of traction needing sheave/ropes replaced and I had one that would not do it without tripping on bus overvolt until I finally changed the braking resistors to the value KEB, not MCE suggested.
