Have a Kone KDL16 giving us hell. These are the symptoms:
Run on inspection up or down brake and ebrake picks Car shutters floats and drifts up slightly. 102 flt xtra 2002. Drive has been changed with known good drive from elevator in bldg. Motor encoder changed with known good encoder from same running elevator in bldg. LCECPU and Adon both from running car. Drive setup 6_60 = 10.25. Also tried setting the drive up with custom motor nameplate data 6_60 = 88.88. Loadweigher is at 0% empty car. Main line voltage is at 490 vac tapped to a step down transformer 415 vac to the kdl16L drive. Motor phase to phase is .2 ohms. Phase to ground = O.L. This elevator will run open loop just fine 6_65=0, but if you Choose 6_65=-2 or 6_65=2 car shutters, floats and drifts up.
Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply. Meaning stator is bad or I need to change the stator resistance parameter? The machine will pick the brakes and try to drive down on inspection with a down run but just floats there then faults out with the above fault. The drive is outputting 127vac phase to be phase while trying to drive on inspection.

Motor leads U V W. Is W from the motor hooked to W on the drive?

I believe so, but I’ll need to verify this to be 100%.

Motor is hooked up right. I’m truly believing we have a bad MX 10 motor stator. During a high current demand with an initial start up the machine simply cannot perform. I noticed today that the voltage never breaks past 60vac phase to phase as compared to another working machine which ramps up from 0vac to 250 vac on inspection. When running open loop it runs okay because it ramps up faster and sharper. Even in open loop there is a bad shudder until it breaks over the 60 vac threshold. With the encoder hooked up it never gets past the 60vac then throws a drive over current flt. I’m thinking the windings in the stator are failing when the current demand is high. 60vac to start the elevator acceleration and to get over the inertia of moving the load.
Next step here is going to be land the car, getting the ropes free and run this unit unloaded. If it runs with no load in the same setup I’m pretty sure it’s the motor.
Still looking for ideas if you have them.

Bad new motor encoder from Kone. Read good on O-Scope but for some reason did not work when hooked up. Installed another new one from Kone runs like a champ. $2k later.
