Can somebody tell me what the code says about the distance above the shackle the cable clamp/clip is supposed to be and then the distance to the next clamp/clip? Thanks in advance.

The first rope clip should should be a maximum of 4 times the rope diameter above the socket. The second clip should be located within 8 times the diameter of the rope. ASME A17.1 212.9e (4)

if you have 5/8 rope, the first clip goes 5/8 above the shackle, the second goes 4 times above that, or 2 1/2 inches above the first clip, the 3rd clip goes 8 times above that, or 5 inches above the second clip...

i had a ball buster consultant point this all out, and he is correct in what he said...
