I have duplex Kone Miprom elevators and there are 2 issues. Also, the elevators were inactive for several years.

1) One of the elevators will not go to the 4th floor when the button is pressed. It will go to the 5th floor then to the 4th floor. It's like there is a latching relay issue but there are no latching relays. We've had the elevator running since April and we just started having issues with the 4th-floor call.
2) When a smoke detector is activated, only one elevator will go to the first floor and open the doors. The other elevator comes to the first floor then the doors close and the elevator will run. The elevator with the 4th-floor call issue is also the elevator that has issues with fire service when a smoke detector is activated. (The phase 1 and 2 key switches work on both elevators) The original smoke detectors were removed and a fire alarm company just installed new smoke detectors.

Any assistance is appreciated.

Are you able to do a vane reader check?
It passes 4, stops at 5 then goes down to 4 to answer the car call. So the call sounds like it’s latched in the cars system, but doesn’t see it traveling up. What about from 5 down, does the call at 4 get answered normally?

New smoke detectors. Is the main recall floor wired for alternate floor recall?
Do the Miprom parameters for Fire Main and Alternate match what the new detectors are programmed to do?
And if they don’t work properly, and the building is occupied, you’ve got a real problem on your hands.

Thanks for responding. The elevator does go to 4 from the 5th floor. We didn't think to check the vane, we'll have to check those items this week.

It sounds like there is a parameter issues for my fire service problem. One elevator works properly, the other doesn't.

By the way, the building is not occupied yet.
