Looking for information on tram a motor to a H Whitney 54 machine?

There is a youtube video from hollister whitney. it is entitled machine maintenance procedures for hollister whitney elevator traction machines. It shows one way of tramming a motor. We also sometimes used a nylon interface between the motor and brake pulley, it made tramming easier on older worn machines. I cannot remember where we bought it though. Good Luck.

John is correct all our mods we use a coupler, AC motors do not take thrust like DC motors do. Also disc brakes on Hollister machines do not like thrust, We would only order the drum brakes. Any thrust on a disc brake and you have a problem. And you will be replacing bearings that would of run another 20 years in a drum brake machine.
