Had a lot of intermittent issues so went through the molex connectors and found a lot of loose connections car ran for a couple months. Now the issue is if it sits at the top landing 2nd floor (only a 2 stop) and you hit the first floor hall call it opens the doors on 2 and shuts down. I checked the selector it’s stepping correctly and usd and dsd switches are good any other ideas are appropriated. Or if anyone knows how to program parking of these are even capable of it that was my other idea keep it on 1 and problem solved. Thanks in advance.

You don’t have the PCD do you.
You’ll have a tough time finding the fault or errant signal without it.
Seems odd. The Ascension 1000 for it’s time was sort of smart. If limits are both open, it would be faulted and not open the doors at all. So how it answers at the top from the bottom hall call is weird.
Parking and other options are done on the Personality Board via jumpers, but without a manual for the 1000 you’re out of luck. About the only thing I can say is check the 5volt supply, and tape magnets.
Does this unit have Fire Recall type feature? Maybe a short in the button box wiring somehow (just my WAG).

To park at 1: row 1 of the Personality board, position 3 on, 4 off.
0 is the far right. You definitely need a PCD to troubleshoot these. What fault it’s shutting down on will tell you where to go from here.

So I have a laptop with multiple different tools on it are there any that work with the ascension? It does have fireman’s and actually if you put it on phase one well it’s stuck at the second floor it will close the doors come down you can then turn phase 1 off and it will go back to normal until it faults at the top again

The program will be called PCD. If you have one of those laptops with a bit of everything on it you probably have it. The problem is those programs are made by TK’s ITS and need a very specific adapter. I know you can buy a tool from World. It seems to me that it would almost have to be seeing DSD low to think it’s at 1. Make sure you have a ground on DSDC on C-10 and all the way to the H4 IO card on 43-1. These things like the 5v supply to be up over 5.2vdc and you’re right about the Molex plug connections, they can be a huge intermittent problem. I replace them all with gold plated Trifurcon type that grab both sides of the pin.

Thanks for all the input dirt. I don’t have a ton of experience on these units but the experience I do have is all molex always seems to be my issue when troubleshooting them so it’s always where I start. Haven’t been back there yet today but I am currently using my laptop on a tac32 and do not have the program for ascension on it we have another new laptop at the shop that I believe has everything it boots into old windows for all those tools and then boots into windows 10 for new smartrise boards I’ll grab that when I go back.

Thanks again dirt the power supply was at 5.297 when I checked it last time I cranked it up to just over 5.3 when I went back and the things running like a champ. Power supply’s never cease to amaze me between ac ripple and touchy voltages I’ve had 3 in the last month with intermittent issues that have been fixed by turning to 5.3

If you need a manual for this PM me. Dirt is all over the 1000 issues. We use to cut off the molex connectors and replace with single female slide on connectors. Mark wires and take your time and you will end a lot of weird problems. Power supply is the other problem child but once you know you know. I started logging all my jobs not just these so you knew when it was running correctly the DC voltage and how much AC was being passed. Saved me hours of trouble shooting down the road.
