Mixed emotions on the Holister Whitney GT-11 overhead traction machine. Easily fit through the MR doorway, installed/adjusted pretty easy. Nice guard assembly. Rope gripper and brake set-up pretty straight forward. Got a worm shaft seal leak prior to final inspection. Was told they had some manufacturing problems with the worms shaft seal housing. HW sent out a retro kit. Had to pull the machine apart and replace the wormshaft seal housing and seals. Office just got a letter from HW informing us that some GT-11 machines have had incidents involving a main drive shaft failure and if there are any of these machines installed without a rope gripper they are to be taken out of service immediately. Not sure what's going on over at HW.
