Does "left behind" by a mechanic somehow constitute a transfer of ownership to you? There are folks associated with Big O's legal team who regularly check forums like this. I don't work for them (in case you are wondering), but I've heard the stories over the years. The OMTs were fiercely protected by legal means and court cases. Some of the early OMTs were booby-trapped to erase the program memories inside them in case they were tampered with. They were paranoid about letting them get into competitors' hands.
