Hey all

I just took over a GEN2 job and the car to lobby switch at the lobby panel is not operating. Switch rings out fine, it appears to be set up, but the building insists its never worked. Does this have to be activated by a parameter? I can not find anything in manuals. Any info would help.

Yes. The key has to be connected to a RSL card. Set the address on the RSL to the one assigned for CTL and enable CTL in the logic board to 1

Yes.So set the DIP switches on RSL card to 1290. Then enable CTL using the service tool. Then set CTL-P to the floor you want the lift to return to.

But you don’t set the dip switches to 1290. You find an extra input on an existing RSL card or add an RSL card then address it to an unused port. Then in 1-3-2 you enter 1290 and enter the address your input is at. 4 inputs and 4 outputs at each port.

Thanks for the quick response.

I am pretty green to Otis equipment. Does each lift have an RSL card at the lobby panel?

My lobby panel has a car to lobby switch for each car. It is a 3 position spring loaded switch: car to lobby, 0 (neutral pos.), and park.

Steve. Your CTL switch must be connected to an a RSL CARD INPUT.

When the key switch is turned on, it will give the signal to the RSL.

Check the address on the RSL seeing which links are on on which are off. The binary code will be 1 2 4 8 16.So seeing which pins are on you can come to know the address on the RSL.

Then this address and the input pin number you set for the address 1290 on the controller. For example

If links 123 are on, in the RSL, then the address will be 7. And if you have used input number 1 to connect the CTL switch to the then the address is 07/1. So input this on 1290.

Hope this helps. I stopped working since 2008, so my apologies for the incorrect info in my previous post which was corrected by another member. All the best.

Not a problem Neville! Thanks for the help. Glad I am finally able to get my hands on some of this OTIS stuff.

What kind of RSL card is in the lobby panel? Are all 3 cars on the same board? What are its dip switches set to? And if you want to let us know exactly where the switches wire to we could tell you more specifically what to enter on the tool. Are these 311 Gen 2s or GCS Gen 2s? Are there labeled indicator lights in the lobby panel that will have to be addressed too for car to lobby and park?

GEN 2 GCS

IT LOOKS LIKE EACH CAR HAS A SWITCH GOING TO AN RS-5 CARD

6 dip switches

1 and 2 are down the other four are up.

Okay so I believe for an RS5 I’ll have 4 inputs and outputs.

Dip switches give me an address of 60 -

If I identify what input the switch is on, let’s say it’s on E5

Then I’m looking at 60/5 for 1290…

E5 is input 1 on the RS5 card so 1290 would be 60 1

Finally got to this today. Had to set up a time with building bla bla bla. Anyways…

I tried quite a few combinations to no prevail.

I am including print, RS5, and panel to this post.

RS5 is addressed 60

I set CTL-P to 001 and CTL-O to 101

Went to input 1290 and tried every combination I could.

Not quite sure what I am doing wrong.

Since the CTL switch is marked, it must also be in the IO list.
Please look in the circuit diagram on the last pages for the IO list, search for CTL and you will find the IO number there. I think 1290 is not correct. In my documents it is IO 10, but there are different countries, hardware and software versions etc.

An example for IO list:

Can you please send me the complete circuit diagram?

Regards

1290 60-2
1291 60-3
1298 60-1

1294 60-2
1295 60-1
1352 60-4
1353 60-3

M-1-3-1-7
PKS-P 001 (this sets PARK position to lobby, can set it to another floor if desired)
PKS-O 000
PKSTYP may need to be set to "001"
