Strange request from the customer,

I have a 4 bank Tac50-04 controllers, 19 landings. The 9th floor is high security, not sure what they do there but it’s 2 guys in a hallway with guns and body armor. A front desk with a metal detector. They want the hall lanterns to “gong!” Go off when somebody has arrived on the 9th floor. General the lantern will only go off when a hall call is latched not car calls.

My lanterns use a 6300WG board in the wall and is wired cat5 to my HN cards in the raceway. There’s an HN card on every floor serving 1 bank. (2 units) and more HN cards serve the other.

Is there anyway to change the programming for this? Or a particular jumper configuration?

As far as I know there is no way to make the lanterns work for car calls. Best I could do would include adding IOs, relays, and running a wire down. Say PI9, DCLI, DOLI so the up arrow lights and gong gongs as soon as the doors start to open at that floor, light goes out at DOL. Def not perfect but you’d still get the ding ding and down arrow for a down hall call when the doors get full open. May need a separate chime depending on the timing at DOL.

You could prob go old school. Mount a wand micro switch so that every time the door opens it trips the micro and rings a gong.
