Hi
Got an older KONE miprom hs losing car and hoist way LON intermittently. It’s a 2 stop. Seems to only happen at 2nd floor. CPU does not show any faults but car does not respond. Any ideas what causes this ?

I would check connections on the shifter board, look at the the 24vdc, and net connections. plug the Molex connectors in and out. Also gateway and Floor control boards.

If it happens when car is in certain floor, could be travel cable problem.

It does happen only on 2nd floor so far. It’s a 2 stop. Customer wants to replace things even though it hasn’t happened again yet besides twice in a 2 week period . Where do I find the shifter board and floor control boards ?

The shifter board is the big one in the controller. FCBs are the floor control boards for the hall fixtures so should be in the gutter or a box in the hoistway at each floor.

Is the shifter board and FCBs drop in replacements? Do they require any interaction with a service tool for set up ?

The Shifter Bd. is plug-and-play. the FCB Bd. is jumpers for the floor, and used for the Arrival gong, and Door side. The Gateway Bd. is for Duplexing. Does the CPU show the LON Net as off? If you have a Duplex the Gateway LED # L1 shows the LON chip towards the CPU as working properly and # L3 towards the other elevator working properly if they are green. Also the CPU has an LED for the Car LON and an LED for the Hoistway LON, which one is off?

Both are off when it happens. Car and hoisway Simplex

Just to clarify. The shifter board is the big green board behind the UIT board in controller ?

Yes a large board in the controller, it has 10 or 11 Molex connectors on the bottom, the part number used to be P-31888-001. Don't know if that is still relevant.

Firstly try to do the Shaft Setup by 5-2-1
Then try the LON download by 5-7-1
And clear the error with E-2-1
Power Down and ON

Ok thank you. When it happens it doesn’t throw a fault. But both Lon leds go out and the car is non responsive .

Ummm, I have been retired for a while now but correct me if I am wrong. There was no LON download or shaft setup on an HS Hydro. Those procedures were on Kone MRL and MR Units. The LON on an HS is a Chip for the NET A, as I recall.BTW the Net A and B and others were terminated with a resister to ground, you may want to check that out. Cannot remember if the resisters were on a board or not.

They did have a shaft setup but no LON download. FCBs were addressed with jumpers.
