They’re good controllers, blue tool is correct although I’ve seen some newer black ones from Otis that work. My old black one does not.
One concern is, at least as of 2 years ago, Unitec wouldn’t sell us the CPU. I lost one, had to buy it from the local office. They gave it to us without a baseline on it, then gave me a blue OMU with a baseline on it but it wasn’t compatible with the CPU without another OMU that updated the CPU first. I ended up buying an old style tan OMU from china and putting the baseline on it with a chip copier. That worked and I got the baseline loaded but could not get the car to run. Only time I’ve ever had to have the OEM come in to fix an elevator. Turned out the baseline they gave me wouldn’t work and they had to put a different version in it to get the car to run. This started with a CAN 0 problem and every board on the CAN link had to be replaced. Not sure what happened, no lightning or anything. I don’t know if this has changed or if the local branch was intentionally making this as hard as possible for me but something to think about.
