I think it uses the black tool but dont quote me. Only real issue I have seen is the power feeding the contollers is NOT enough amps so Otis adjusted the soft start to limit inrush taking the motor out. I have see this on 2 different jobs. and the car door encoders/motors suck so keep a spare on hand
