The TAC20 Manual states that you can download the job file to a laptop and it will save as CarEeprm.XX. It goes onto say that you can convert this file to _07C000.dat file to upload via hyperterminal. Has anyone ever done this? It doesn't say how to convert the file. Can you just upload the CarEeprm.XX file back to the job using a laptop? I would like to know how to convert the file if anyone has successfully done it. See attached photo for reference. Thanks
You just rename it _07c000.dat. It’s good practice to make another copy named _0f8000.dat and load them together with the 3 generic files. You can load the job file back through IMS but if the board is new and has no software in it you need to load a job file and generic before you’d be able to do that.

No it’s not in the manual but something that happens sometimes is the UIT won’t work after loading the correct job file. The solution is to load another copy of the file to _0f8000. The number before the .dat specifies what memory address to load the file so you’re just telling it to load the file to 2 different memory locations. I believe the _07c000 is in FLASH and the _0f8000 is in RAM but not 100% on that. You certainly don’t have to do the _0f8 file but I load all 5 files in 1 shot every time.
In case anyone runs into this I had the wrong com port selected in hyperterminal. After going to Device Manager on my computer I was able to tell that Com Port 1 was active while I had Com Port 3 selected.
