I am guessing that MTH = Motor Thermal related. Often a fault like that may latch itself and require a manual reset sequence to put the car back in service, rather than silently resetting once the thermal condition clears (in which case a mechanic might never realize it’s happening over-and-over again). Possibly this is done via the service tool/OFT?
