We are doing a mod on a Kone duplex with TMS600 controllers circa 1995 and need to divorce Car 2 from Car 1. All of the interconnections between the controllers were being removed but when the interconnections for the fire detectors from M2/1, M2/2, M2/3 from Car 2 are removed, Car 1 goes onto fire service. The interconnections just go to the inputs B/18A, B/16C, and B16E, on both boards. Why would removing the inputs from Car 2 controller set off the fire service on Car 1? They are just paralleled. Do they need termination resistors, etc.

Found the issue. The interconnect was not providing the signal from Car 1 to Car 2. It was the other way around. Once the fire sensors were jumped out, no issues.
