We have been opening many unpickable doors, otis and others, side slide and center opening for many years with just a piece of stiff wire. The key is to bend the wire in a rectangular style a little wider then the doors thickness, and have one end long enough to reach the pick up roller assembley, you just insert and feel pickup assembley and pull back to unlock. It helps if you have one pre made on a particular job. you have some one in the car and the other person out in the hall with the pick, and you adjust the dimensions accordingly. we then leave one pick in each machine room in case of emergency. so far it has paid big dividends in getting trapped passenger out in a timely manner, especially if you do not know how to open the doors electrically, or the car is away from the door zone. I personally usually rely on using the print to remedy the situation, but under pressure this could help.The t handle opener has worked on occassion, but usually it can not fit between the hall door gap without prying the door, and once your past the hall door it is hard to squeeze between the car door and then twist to open. It can work in certain situations, but in my experience it more of a pain then a help. just my opinion. any other thoughts out there in elevator land
