Hi Guys, We have a Kone Eco 5 floor in the UK that's stopping out of level, its running by in both directions to varying degrees at all floors and then levelling to correct level. G 5mm Low 1st Ok Down 60mm high up 2nd 30mm low down & 70mm high up 3rd 70mm low down and similar high up 4th 5mm low down and ok up 5th ok We have checked the LWD all ok re-setup to be sure, checked magnet arrangement all ok nothing moved, replaced all proximity switches, replaced tacho and had drive tested on a Kone test rig. carried out a shaft learn, Lon download numerous times and just cant get it it to stop level......
Any ideas appreciated as we are running out of them, P.S no rope slip, checked for that, guides are well lubricated, and we seem to be getting all the correct signals and NO ERRORS showing ? mad:

Is it a 1:1, 2:1,or 4:1? I had problems with a 2:1 and heard of similar problems in the 4:1 cars fixed it by adding 300lbs to the car sling in "bread loaf" weights

Ecodisc motor roped 2:1, Has Tacho, LWD, 61U/N, 30, 71U/N Lift has run ok for years since installation, at first expected sluggish proximities when this didn't resolve issue changed Tacho even though it seemed ok, finally had drive checked but still the same issues.
Now pulling my hair out !!!

When you did a shaft learn, did it throw any faults after the learn? If not then your shaft setup is correct.
Have you checked rope slip through drive display? If that checks out ..
Have you checked your brakes? If that checks out…
I would change the CCBN.
If you have changed the cigar switches, magnets, and tac then the only thing that makes sense to me is to change the car top board since that’s what’s transmitting the signals to the controller.

I had this situation with Kone Monospace, drive v3f16l. The reason was in the v3f16l. After I changed the drive with another elevator, the problem has gone there. I guess, if you change 1_12 to 0, the cabin will not move to the correct level after stopping

Have you changed your main drive contactors? Or changed your drive unit?

Hi All, thanks for the suggestions, the drive is ok we have had this running for two days on a Kone test rig without fault, Adding weight to the car doesn't really make sense to me as the car is running through in both directions, so i would assume it will make it run through worse in down. Not changed contactors but they are energising and deenergising correctly and have positive activation of all contacts, no voltage drop or or high current demands. From the schematics it appears that the car top board for the proxi switches is just a pass thru to the trailers so i will go back today and bridge this direct to trailers, but we do appear to be getting the signals correctly to the controller as it is but at this point anything is worth a try.
Completes a shaft learn without fault. Manually checked rope slip and we have none, ie line on sheave and rope, run up and down a few times and they still correlate. Checked brakes appear ok, but again do not see how an issue here would cause overtravel, under yes if it was not lifting.
Not noticed a parameter to check slip through the display, can you tell me the param ?

I've once had an issue with emf being transmitted through the rails and causing the proximity switches near the top level to prematurely activate. Seems to be irrelevant to your issue but could be worth a thought.

So just an update guys, been back today and temporarily rewired Proxi switches direct to LCECPU cutting out possible CCBN Board and trailer issues, but still the Same ?
Can anyone advise of how the signals are processed thru the LCECPU and then the signal output to the drive, im assuming there's something wrong with this process ? Is there a way thru the MAP Panel of seeing the state of the LCECPU outputs to the drive.

A shot in the dark. Is it possible that the magnetic tape has magnetized the metal to which it is attached? I had that happen on a Kone Hydro. used some tape at each end of the magnet.

Thanks but i cant see it with what we have done today we seem to be getting the correct signals to the shaft panel, as soon as 61U/N sees a magnet we get 15v at the shaft panel connection, XC115 & 6 and loose it again as soon as it drops off the magnet.

I had these issues in an elevator. I checked all and replaced some parts for testing before replacing the v3f16l. I noticed that if the drive runs for just 5-10 minutes, the elevator doesn't have any problems or has but less. This might be due to the old capacitors in the v3f16l. I would recommend replacing the drive for testing purposes. Find another v3f16l and try it in the elevator.

Hi, Yeah its definitely not the drive, its been checked by a drive specialist on there test rig, we sent it for refurbishment as the first option when changing the proxi switches didn't work, and although it ran ok on the test rig i got them to replace with a service replacement drive just in case.. So its had. New switches. New Tacho Refurbished drive.
Really appreciate all the help guys but as yet we have still to resolve, had an ex Kone tester on the phone yesterday but he couldn't help either !!!

Does anyone no how to update the firmware on these, we dont have the param 6_75 available on this firmware to allow monitoring of the drive ? if we had this may help to highlight any issues ? Clutching at straws spring to mind .

Does the elevator car is not stuck in the guide rails? You can’t update firmware and this drive will not have 6_75(real time monitor). Kone doesn’t support the drive anymore, the drive has short life and many problems. Instead of it they have made KDL16 and it already has real time monitor.

No sticking, runs nice and smooth other than the levelling,
Yeah we new drive was not the best but we have replaced loads of these with refurbished drives before, company we use upgrade the hardware inside and we have 15 year old refurbished drives still running and to be fair this was an original we took off so that had been running for 23years without issue ...
