Is there a specific 188e board just for LON? We have one that crashed and Access is unable to get it to boot back up. We have several 188e boards, but never had to replace one with LON. We have the job files on the CD and have the talk adapter. About to get a crash course in it.

Pretty sure all 188Es are equipped for Lon, however some are discretely wired (tac-22) they still use the same board.

Not exactly, KY9 boards have no LON controllers, only work for simplex Tac22. KY8 has 2 LON controllers, cat and hall, so work for simplex TAc20. All duplex require a KY7 because they have all 3 LON controllers populated. The third is for the group. Those are the old part numbers though, all of the newer boards KY10 and KY14 have all 3 so can replace any 188e.

The wiring diagram is easy to read on the communication. Thanks for the information and the wiring diagram.
When hooking up the lon talk adapter:
What con do we hook up the external power source to the lon card?

Update----big thanks as always to Dirt for the diagram on the lon talk cable. We were successful on this one. On the 188e board we did have to load up a different version of the software, as it was an older board. Thanks to another helpful person, that was resolved also.
