when the car re-sync's it comes down and sits on buffer for a given amount of time
that time allows the pistons to bottom out and "re-sync"
on the way up and also down, there are monitors for these pistons that must not let one hand piston get a certain distance from the other side
they might be magnets connected to piston head passing by a box with a prox switch in it
these inputs to the controller can be watched on any device that runs that software, they may also be led's on the main board
i mentioned buffer because:
if the buffer does not allow enough travel at bottom, and time to sync, they will not sync properly
normally a power off/on reset gets a customer thru it as they can see the car sitting just below the floor
the springs will probly be an inch or so above the tubes that hold them
remove the springs and you'll achieve more travel at re-sync time
i ended up band-sawing about 1.5" off springs on a couple of telescopic dmc's, never happened again
put cut end down into holding tube
(make sure, of course, that the extra travel does not create any obstruction issues)

on a few tac 32's i have replaced check valves to solve it
if you have check valve issues due to pieces of failed packing getting into the check valves at bottom of pistons and not allowing them to open/close properly, that's your trouble
the check valves are an integral part of the telescopic process
not unusual to have low oil scenarios and cars shutting down in that case especially a few years after install of original packing
