I’m hoping somebody can give me a little more information to point me in the right direction as I’m not too experienced with Schindlers in general.
I’ve got a Schindler Miconic TXR5 that will run a few inches, then the ACUMNA board status will change from “0” to “9” (SET DUE TO SYSTEM ENCODER FAULURE). This job is a geared overhead Hollister Whitney with a tach for the motor and a tach on the governor. When I remove the red “12V” wire from X3-1-1-8 on the ACUMNA board, the car will run without any issues. I’ve taken the tach away apart and found that the cover was mounted in a way where the governor shaft was scraping the cover and caused a buildup of filings in the tach. I’ve cleaned it out and inspected the solid state tach board and didn’t find any obvious issues besides that.
I’m hoping I don’t need to replace the tach as I’m having a hard time finding one. Can anyone tell me what this red 12v tach wire is doing for me? I’m also confused as to why I can run without this wire. I can also run with the entire X3-1-1 connector disconnected without any faults or issues and I’m not sure why.
