Good Afternoon, so we are having some issues with our Otis E-411mms. The car calls all work but the hall calls don’t. The hall buttons are all lit green and they won’t work, any insights into this would be extremely helpful, thanks
Verify 24-30VDC on your orange and purple and ≈1224Hz on the datalink at the hall station. You can monitor the inputs for a specific hall button input. You will need to see if/where the voltage and Hz on the serial link is missing and go from there.
Quick and easy thing to try would be shut off the A car and see if you get you buttons back.
I shut the car off and they’re still on like this, it’s not in fire mode phase 1 or 2 I believe but that red light is on too ( see attached image, of 1st floor)
There’s only 1 car on the group. The serial link checked out all good, only issue, is it’s ringing/ continuity between purple and brown wires in the buttons, which I suppose it’s not normal in this case? In the service tool all the inputs/outputs for the hall call are off and I can’t turn them on. We appreciate your insights!
Yeah, in this specific case all or them are lit on all the floors. Where does the rsl and power for hall buttons come up to on the machine room to the board?
Also, In the blueprints I see there should be a line terminator for the hall buttons, but I can’t seem to find it anywhere, only one I could find was the one inside the car panel, on top, but I believe that’s for the in car buttons
Prints will tell you where the RSL lands in the controller. Terminator is typically in the hoistway gutter in the pit or bottom hall button box, each RSL (Car, Hall, Group)has its own. I would agree that continuity between your 30VDC and datalink is not good. Would recommend disconnecting the group link in the MR and wire in a RS board up there and see if that clears the issue. If not your be looking at a new RCB2 board if they are still available.
Will definitely try this tomorrow when I get back there! Appreciate the insights! I attached 2 pictures below of the rcb board and of the fib, are the lights on the fib modules supposed to be all on? Does this fib lights look good to you?
The FIB’s are used to interface devices that wont work with RS boards. Typically used for hall lanterns that operate at 120VAC or building smokes relays etc.
Make sense! So as long as the elevator isn’t in fire mode, the fib shouldn’t be the issue here if I understand right. I’ll try what you suggested above and report back
