We have a five (5) car group, and only one car goes on fire service intermittently. We have check all connections in all controllers for the fire recall inputs and check the power supply voltages.

Any chance there are a couple of 12v batteries used for CPU back up that are at or beyond shelf life expectancies?

The Batteries were approaching the replacement date. We replaced all the batteries. Wait and see now.

I’d suggest going through all the RSL IDC connectors in the COP. Verify car RSL line terminator is set correctly and near the end of the car side daisy chain of RSL devices.

Now the car seems to be on FS, kills the hall riser with FS key switch, All COP buttons and Indicators are dead. Doors will open with DO button. Replaced the board that has the FS Phase II inputs/outputs. No improvement!

I would definitely check the line terminator.
Also, check your stray ac voltage on the serial link, it should be close to zero.
You could make sure the spares are grounded to help the stray voltage.
You could also check the terminal connection for the smoke detector wires and the key switch.

Can you tell if it is being activated by the key switch or one of the smoke contacts?

This is a five car group. We sent the IO board tomorrow
Be repaired, thinking it was a faulty IO. None of the other cars go on FS. And we changed the RSL board in COP that has FS inputs. No change.

Received the IO board back from Unitec, Now is will not energize the R relay which pulls in UCMX. Meaning rope gripper will not reset what is keeping R from coming in?

Did you try a UCM reset? Given the quick turn around my guess is you got a “new” board and need to set your FPGA settings.
