We have a real noisy power unit from Unitec. Any tricks or idea to quiet it down. We bolted to concrete with rubber isolation, isolated pipe on unistrut, and installed MEI muffler with isolation couplers. Still pretty noisy....

We’ve seen loose pump motor mounting bolts, piping joints jammed at the vics and rags sucked onto pump input screens. Piping rubbing against concrete bores/chases is another concern. Is there an isolation pad between the piston and push plank?

Yeah we ran into this a few years back, and it was the pipe running into the shaft, wasnt just right. We put an adjustable pipe stand and isolation pad on it. Turned the screw until it liked where it was at. No more issues from the vibration. You could hear it in the whole shaft when it was noisy.

I finally did a site visit. Sounds more mechanical. Elevator is super quiet but you can hear machine room at lobby. I did throw a heavy blanket on power unit to see if it changed anything. It did make a difference so I'm looking in that direction.

Those unitec power units weren't designed to have the little isolation pads in the 4 corners. They have a full size isolation pad that goes under them that works well. I assume you can still get that pad, but I haven't done one of those units in years now. The mei stuff is so much quieter and easier to install.
