Have a 6010 that has started bouncing or jumping (depending on your terminology) when the car is going up. Runs fine in down direction. Does worse, the more empty the car is. Almost goes away when there is balanced load in it, and does go away after the car gets heavier. Checked tach coupler, brushes, all mechanical components, no issues found. I detest throwing parts at something, we have a tach coming its lead time is a couple of weeks. The comparitor board is pretty pricey also. looking for some guidance from some folks that might have cut their teeth on these things, or more experienced on them.

SO, a few things to try. If your max field pot is too high, it can cause the jitters. The tach shield should be grounded at the controller end only. A bad 3ea board, 2ea board, 1ea board, can also cause it. The 1 and 2 ea boards are inter-changeable, plug and play. you can try swapping them, and see if the problem changes. Also the stabilility pot being too high causes it. These things are a Beast, so one thing at a time. Check the tightness of terminal connections. Good Luck.

Thanks for the help John Jay. We did all of the above and the thing that helped the most was the max current pot on the 6CA board. It was at 45, we changed it to 35. Problem has not gone away, but a noticeable difference. Assuming that it is the 6ca board, at least try that?

The CA Boards are job specific, and are not like the EA Boards. You can"t order one from spares.
