I have been working on this lift. Someone other company installed, looks like it’s a company that does stair lifts mainly, from what I saw on ther site.
It’s a 2 stop, constant pressure lift.
When at the bottom and trying to go up the motor hums, if I let off and press again it travels fine.
Almost as if I have a pressure issue. I suspected this and inspected the hydraulic reservoir inside the panel, nothing crazy. I inspected the hose, zero issues. No leaks. Nothing.
I also purge the jack, didn’t really need it.
Savaria points me to the reservoir, I don’t want to charge the customer for ordering this reservoir if I don’t have to.
Has anyone else had this issue?

We have had several V1504s where the tanks were never cleaned and plastic got into the valve, and savaria doesn’t stand behind it. So now we drop every reservoir and clean it out. Savaria’s a great lift but there quality control is lacking. If this is a 24vdc motor set up, also check both contractor's are picking, also try removing amd reseating all relays.

Ashley this was it! Not a lot but enough debris to cause issues in this small reservoir. They told me “must have happen during installation”. lol

That's the thing about Savaria, there never heard of a problem before, and its never their fault. But once it's running it runs. Well except the commander door operator, they go thru springs and boards like nothing else.

Glad you were able to track down the issue. It's a good example of why intermittent lift problems are worth investigating thoroughly before replacing expensive components.
Even when there are no obvious leaks or visible signs of damage, contamination in a hydraulic system can still affect performance. Checking the fluid condition, reservoir, and any applicable filtration components during troubleshooting can help identify problems that aren't immediately apparent.
It's also worth following the manufacturer's maintenance procedures to reduce the chances of the same issue returning. Proper diagnosis and preventive servicing can make a real difference in keeping accessibility equipment reliable and avoiding unnecessary repair costs.

Is this last one written by AI? This isn't IUEC tech verbiage. Or a college prof. Been IUEC 20+ and never seen some college BS like this

MX4. Agree with you.. Not sure on that one. But something didn't look right. Maybe, not saying true, AI has a plant to scan ---- in other words, if someone asks google gemini or chat GPT a question about an elevator, it scans hundreds of sources in seconds. If you ask Google a question about an elevator nowadays, it gets somewhat close and somewhat knowledgeable and then in the side notes Vator Trader / Elevator Forum whatever is referenced. Which kind of waters down this site and waters down what an IUEC tech knows and does. Someone may want to forward this to administrator, but there is no way to stop AI -- its gonna find it.

Unfortunately AI is going to be the new norm, there isn’t much fighting it. I wish the international would get involved and atleast put limits on it somehow. Soon we will just be doing virtual maintenance visits via phone and it will predict how much actual maintenance is needed.. AI won’t feel the vibrations or hear the noises etc. something that could be caught on a pre-active approach. Instead it’s going to wait to fully fail and shut down. Every maintenance package these days is just an insurance policy. They will cut the herd down (mechanics) keep a few bucket kickers and a couple of adjusters and keep it moving. Just my opinion..

Quite possible. Sad, but you could be right on with that.
