Sounds like a problem with the RO ckt. This is a door logic problem and not a problem with your direction selection ckt. The reason it probably works away from the floor your at is another part of the door initiating ckt works due to the fact that the car is in motion and your regular leveling sequence covers up the other problem. Without more info as to the make or year of the type of installation , I can't be more specific.
