Maybe this will be easy for some of you...but this one has got us scratching our heads. This is a duplex with one of the units being shut down for several years. Just recently the unit starting this problem which is aggravating for the customer. If the car is at a different floor from where you are at and the gen has shut off it will come directly to the floor that it has been called to. If the car is at the floor that you are already at and you press the hall button, the gen starts up but the door does not open. You have the press the hall button again(before the gen shuts off) to open the door. If you do not press the hall button again before the gen shuts off, then the gen just starts up and still does not open the door unless you press the hall button again. This happens only if the car is already at the floor that the hall button is pressed. If the car is at a different floor then the gen comes on and the car goes the designated floor and opens the door.?

Sounds like a problem with the RO ckt. This is a door logic problem and not a problem with your direction selection ckt. The reason it probably works away from the floor your at is another part of the door initiating ckt works due to the fact that the car is in motion and your regular leveling sequence covers up the other problem. Without more info as to the make or year of the type of installation , I can't be more specific.

That's a nice problem...Does the hall button light and stay lit on the first push? Hmmm...

Sorry for the lack of information. It is a 1964 year controller, the numbers on it are 1123UCl with a 6970 Door operator. It does not have the lights in the hall or call buttons. Thanks in advance.

If you are troubleshoot it by yourself try jumping the hall button common to the floor relay terminal where the car is. This way you can see if the relay pulls in and what other circuits should be activated at the same time... Bob[b][/b][i][/i]

I think Smitty might have hit on it. I cant believe I dont have a 21 UCL print at home! There are two ways you will open the door-
1. Automatically-arrival at the floor from another floor
2. Reopen-the car is at the floor and it opens due to the safety edge, door open button, car call or hall call

Sounds as if your auto open is working correctly, you just need to fix your reopen on hall button. 1DO-2DO or D1R-D2R are your doors relays-usually a Capacitor holds them up once they are set for a predetermined time. If you look at the print for your door logic it will show 2 maybe 3 distinct paths to pull in your open relays-one of these is most likely your culprit. If I had a print of a 21 UCL I could probably point you to it-hope this helps
