All depends on what your referring to. New construction or mod package? For reference, back in the day we were installing 2 stop dmc cars with omega rails in eight-nine days, but only because our supervisor would let us sit home the remainding days of the three weeks that we were allotted. Lol

The 40x2 is possible if everything surrounding and interfacing with the elevator is finished on time

I'm referring to New construction. 40 and adjusted has been the average for us as well. Now they are wanting that time cut down to 25. Finnishing a job now 4 stop duplex 1 car has a rear opening at bottom landing only and we were given 11 working days to install and adjust it. Were not going to make that so I guess things will get crazy around the shop for a wile.

I think a call to the b.a. is in order. That is ridiculous. I spend a good portion of some days fixing new elevators installed like this after we take the service contract. If you're in socal, just send me the job address when you're finished.

when i worked in repair i thought of myself as "re-construction crew". now that im in service i feel like im a "first callback adjuster". i understand the hurry up pressures but taking a few extra hours to make it right will save days of work in the long run.

The pusher turns back hours and the rest of his crew finds themself at home wishing they had those hours in their bank account. But a two stop hydro you cant make a career out of. Our new tac 32 units are very simple. We wont be able to keep them on a service contract but on a two stop I believe there are 8 wires running to the COP.

If I cant get 3 weeks we wont take the job. And most of our work comes from our customers that demand us. Jacks go in the ground where they belong. Rails weigh 16lbs a foot.Heavy duty sling and platform with the machine room outside the hoistway!!!!! And when our adjuster leaves the job after a no punch list inspection the dam car had better run with no call backs...Yes you can still provide the best and grow in this buisness.We have gone from a 3 man shop in 1999 to the biggest employer of IUEC members in St.Louis.

That's great! All these MRL, hole-less traction hydros, material made out of tin foil........ Crap ain't gonna last and is a PIA/next to impossible to setup correctly from the start..... much less keep it reliable. Oh, and they sound like crap when they run! Solution....Dig big hole. At the bottom start with all 3 stage upside down jacks on top of that any hydro with ropes and safeties. Next anything with controllers on the car top. Then layer in your MRLs and and any sling or door panels you can pick up with one hand. If the hole is not full empty any porta potties and back fill with dirt.

I want to work for your company ! Construction crews stuck in the middle trying to do quality job with no time to fart at most company's .....everybody cutting time on installs leads to a bad install and it just snowballs to a problem elevator forever !

Tommy you are right if you dont install it right in the first couple weeks of an elevators life. It will be a nightmare for years to come. So how do you make a buck that way??? As far as coming to work for us you are not alone. We started 4 new men January 2nd along with 196 new elevators to maintain. Only 1 man has less than 30 years in the trade and they will need all they know to clean,paint and readust the units back into real elevators again.
