I went through all the relays relating to up/down and changed some iffy ones no change.Finally started digging into the compounding on the gen,and the generator has a configuration not even found on the diagram.Its at 3 1-4 thats over 15 turns in, The generator is shot someone even changed the neutral on it. The commutator is cut down over an 1/8 inch also ,i finally got it to run close to contract speed so thats where im at now until we pull the gen which
isnt going to happen until it blows up
