The car is always about a foot or 18" above the the first landing. It never fails during the day and it never occupies a passenger. It is always found failed in the morning when the building opens. It must be failing upon starting the generator after shutting down at night. I will verify the contacts you have suggested and post my findings. Thanks for the tips everyone!
