boy, i must be getting old, thanks guys, now i remember the previous post. So if the car gets a signal to run up, and the input to k55 fails, then the tool will display whew its hot. I guess the programmers for the controller would think that the motor thermal overload was the likely suspect, since it opening up would cause no k55 and the thought being that it opened due to hi oil temperature. any way we have jumped the thermal, disconnected cold oil input and will wait for the result. also there is a phase reversal contact in some of the prints i have looked at, but not on this unit as it has a solid state starter. One thing i am having trouble understanding is the TH thermal overload on the print. we have a bimetallic thermal on our unit with no TH relay. I cannot make out what the TH relay is accomplishing. Its coil leads are connected directly to the 24volt power supply, and then there is a TH contact from the motor. thats all i can find with this circuit,
Who knows how this works, cant find any info in any manuals.
