Hey everyone, I'm looking for the part # to the Triac / SCR that's mounted on the small plug in board on a coast door board. I only have one car with this door operator and the numbers are not legible. I think it's a triac but it may be an SCR.

Actually, it's an SCR. The original number is a C126D but you can also use an (NTE 5554) as a replacement.

i would say it is time to get rid of that dangerous door operator, replace it with a kinematics or mac 104 board. when the scr shorts the doors are uncontrollable and will operate at hi speed, I have seen some good damage caused by that door operator. any way just a suggestion.

Hi Scott, yeah they had purchased a new door package when we picked up the job. I'm just trying to keep it running until the new doors come in. It appears the door motor armature grounded causing the SCR to short. So new motor and new SCR has the car up and running. I'm not that familiar with this door operator but I know those old Mac operators (with speed and control board) will close with no control if the Transistor shorts. I had to do a deposition for a case where someone was hit very hard by the doors. I would recommend to any one on here if you still have that old MAC operator to get rid of it. I've seen the damage first hand.

hey vatordude, like that username, good to know they are upgrading that equipment. montgomery knew of this problem, so if you were being deposed in the law suit, it was a waste of your time, they added the speed limiting circuit in that particular door operator after many injuries and law suits. any way the coast door operator was very similar. it is great to have your input in this forum, keep up the great post's. hope you have a great turkey day.
