I usually check the torque when the door is about 1/3 from being closed. You will decrease the close speed and torque at the same time if you adjust the resistor-thats not really an issue unless you have crappy hall doors. This one probably has an OHST timer in the controler, this will help when you increase the open speed-its sort of like PL microswitch on a MAC-it delays your open high speed for the start of the open. You may have to tighten up your spirators when you adjust the close torque.
