Does anyone know of a problem with the DMC-1 that would cause it to stop more than three inches above an intermediate floor and open the doors intermittently in the up direction? Is there a mod or factory update to correct this problem?

sounds like maybe the lu signal is not coming in a the appropriate time thus stopping when it encounters the ld signal. have you checked the tape guides? they should be fairly tight. it could be a bad selector board or possibly a bad sensor board. try swapping one or the other. good luck
