We have a client with a duplex Schlinder Micro-Processor Hydro (MPH II) installation. We haven't taken it over yet mainly because we've been conservative as to if it would be sensible in terms of the expenses.

Are the boards widely available besides from Schlinder? Do the EEPROMS need an external programmer or will the SVT take care of it? If so how frequent do the EEPROMS become an issue?

Really any information regarding the MPH II product would be greatly appreciated.

Worked on MPH II many times. Honestly. It's not bad, it has two different versions, pretty much the same thing, you should be able to get boards from third party company, and yes, EEPROM needs SVT. I mainly use SVT to run the unit and check error code(not many there). How old are these units?
From my limited experience, most the problems involving ice-cube relays and that upside down jack(they do leak oil), if you do pick up the job and have issues,let me know.

I'd say these units are probably close to 15 years old if not older. There are only around 5 or so cube relays above the MHC. I can't remember the acronyms. The old tech left a few in the room so thats probably a good hint that is a frequent problem. They have a few older EEPROMS in the room also which concerns me considering its been replaced.

The jack on this unit isn't upside down though. Its a typical install in ground. Pit if full of water....Not a good sign of maintenance personal.

mph 2's aren't too bad the weak link is the eci doorlocks , they seem to be very sensative. Also if you ever power the unit down and you loose info you need to change the back up battery on the board. Its on the top of the board usually green and soldered directly onto the board.

ya they had a used UPS unit in the MR too. I guess they use the standard APU UPS units like most. if you power down and loose the info do you have to reprogram or is it self-learning? I'd imagine you'd need the SVT to get it back up and running.

Those relays above MHC, if my memory serves me, are for doors and gate. About door locks, sometimes those were installed too close(keeper hanging on top part of the contact, instead of touching both), should be easy enough to correct.
Again, keep those relays on RMH board in good shape, you shouldn't have too much of problem. be perfect honest with you, I've never changed those battery yet(sheer dumb luck?)

You will want to archive the software. Pull the eeproms and copy before you take it on for service. If you lose a board and software gets corrupted your Done!...

All great advise. We maintain a bunch of these jobs and they run well. The air up mufflers and the multi stage upside down pistons are the most trouble. But with the repack tool from ADAMS and down time for repack and clean up (21/2 to 3 days) figured into your maintenance you will do fine.

The relay's above the MHC board are for door lock monitoring and were install on jobs after 1997. The Eproms hardly ever go out. Yes if your Battery on the MHC goes dead on you with the power off your peramiters were just go back to defalt like the P.I. inputs, dwell times and so on but the elevator should still run and you need and "HHT" "service tool" to adjust them. I think they are great elevators and I have gotten to adjust and service a few of them
