Re: 330A retrofit jacks
MX4
06/13/25 10:49 PM
I will also LOTO on blown out packing, while I do agree it is a silly design- they make us a ton of money. It’s smart to go over the jack and dress it up while changing a packing but I’ve never taken one out but I do love the feedback and never crossed my mind to upgrade bc of the cost alone.

Re: Otis Gen2 mod controller lock out
Bowtiedrooster16

I'm sure theres, Work-a-round or will be one shortly after the lock outs become a problem. As for now I have a copy of the "unique procedures" book or what ever it is and I'll have to keep following that for testing. It is such a pain in the ass though haha

Re: Problem with replacing OTIS TCBC to GECB
TheElevatorGuy
06/11/25 05:10 AM
It’s possible that what you are seeing on the LED is indicating that the software is doing a watchdog reset because it’s getting in an endless loop when trying to transfer the EEPROM data using the E2TB.
I do not know what version of TCBC software you had, but maybe it’s very old and the new GECB software, when trying to transfer the EEPROM contents, is somehow getting messed up. That is one possible cause - but of course it’s impossible to say if it is really what’s happening. Perhaps something is being logged in the error log on the GECB? Or maybe you see erratic behavior of other things like the SVT/OFT is not working.

Re: TAC 5004 32Bit UPGRADE
Indirtwetrust

This is a huge upgrade in my opinion. Go from a CPU that could barely run the elevator and talk to IMS at the same time to running on the exact same hardware we’re installing today. Will the customer see a difference? Maybe. If they have intermittent problems the ability to run logfiles is a huge advantage.

Re: Gen2 hall call glitch?

Is Car 1 LOTO? Are these GCS or 411’s?
Lights should be driven off of outputs from the RS boards.
My first thought is a duplicate I/O somewhere. Assuming Car 1 is off I’d be looking at I/O’s in car 2. If it’s a GCS, recalc CRC and see if that clears up the issue. If you leave Car 1 on MRI but powered up does the issue go away?

Hi guys getting 111 fault, missing khu in down direction. Saw it happen where khu stays high going through a floor and then going low after going through another floor, i’m going to replace the read switch. Question is does this switch use the ciaco board as a termination point or does it actually do something on that board?

If you have an old LON cable, simply cut it where it connects to the PCI and connect the 2 cables into the USB LON, or simply use 2 cables and connect from USB LON to LCC1/LCC2 or LHC1/LHC2 on the controller.
