Have you replaced your tape guides, and check your prox sensors. Make sure you haven't bent any pins on the plug on the tape reader board. Also check your switchs in the top of the hoistway. Or get a ims computer it will tell you whats wrong. Good luck.

I have replace the selector boards on about 75% of the jobs I have. They seem to be a weak point on these systems.

replace the relays throughout the MCD and MCE circuits, the original relays suck. common problem with a Tac20.

Nothing to prove anymore, done it all.

I agree replace the relays....garbage! You can also try taking the relays out and hitting them on a hard surface, i was told this will "reset the coil" it works sometime and will get you out of a jam until you can get new relays.

E311>>><<< you know better, the tac 20 is one hell of a fine elevator system if you have the tools to work on them. they sure dispatch faster than any 211.

gs264>>><<< the big O calls them a first aid kit which contains silver tipped relays, both the 24v and the 110v to replace the originals which sucked right out of the box. it also contains new back-up batteries and some floppy disks to download the software on.

Don't know if this has anything to do with your issue but i am putting this out there because when i did work at TKE we ran across this on the TAC20 and the TAC50's....check all your connections that are factory installed, we had an issue in are area were the wire was behind the screw termainal! didn't start having problems untill almost a year after install. found this on power supplies and "aux" relays to the starter.

Yes ifrratedpilot but it is a good lesson to remember. This job was not mine and i got to figure it out at 2 a.m. on a hospital hela-pad trama elevator. The Tac 20 is a good unit, but i would still take a DMC.

Reminds me of my 1st CB base.

We had the job for 3 days. I get a night call on Friday, that an elevator was down and had to be running. I get there, and there's nothing in the machine room but a book. Called my Boss, and asked does anybody know about this stuff? He told me that I would know all about it after I fixed it..LOL...

Sat in the machine room for the next 6 hours on time and 1/2, read the book, then fixed it in about an hour..

It Don't mean a thing if it aint got that swing.

They are a pain. Every time I have to get involved with one it is some kind of Lon problem. The book I have is fine if you keep in mind that it assumes that you work for Thyssen and can get factory replacement boards. I usually have to work backwards to figure out what generic files I am missing. One tip is to look for any floor that may have got wet. The Rj45 connectors that daisy chain fixture to fixture corrode easily.

i do not work for TKE and have never had a problem repairing at Tac 20 whether it be a LON problem or whatever. Schindler uses LON on their 321's and 330's.
