Hey brothers,
First technical question here on the forum. Ive got a unit on my route, Motion Control Engineering IMC controls, KEB F5 drive, with a Hollister Whitney overhead geared traction machine. 10 stop, about 25 years old. It's a service car at a hotel so it gets heavy use. I've noticed the car has this unusual shake as it ascends up to the upper floors or out of the top landing down, but it seems to decrease to a smoother ride by the time it descends to the lobby level. I've checked car & counterweight guide rollers, all appear to be good. I've also put my ear to the machine and gearbox listening for bearing noise or vibrations, it seems smooth. I'm wondering if this could possibly be a harmonic vibration from the drive? What do you guys think, im open to any and all feedback.
