Otis Hydro circa 1972---If car is in flight, in up direction, an open a hallway door to stop the car, it will keep going in leveling speed. I remember way back, an Otis guy had told me that there were some zener diodes in the up circuit that would make it do that. Any advice on where that diode would be? It just started doing this as the route tech found it on the monthly inspection.
In the up direction, if a door is opened it will change from high speed to level speed and stop at the next floor. In the down direction if a door is opened it stops as it should right away. Operates the same condition if the start of the door circuit at pit switch, top of car switch is opened. When an up call is placed, door circuit is opened and running at leveling speed, if the contacts of INR 16/15 are opened it stops as it should, right away. The down circuit is fed by same contacts of INR 16/15, but, in down direction it stops as it should right away when the door circuit is opened. I am overlooking something.
I'd like to start by saying I only have guesses about an area to think about. Id really have to print everything out and sit down with it for a long time and even then it would be guesses. At a glance I'm drawn to SP (stall protection) relay.
Thanks. BTR16...IDWT suggested also, to block the MLT and pull the wire from coil of PM then we can check where we are getting the voltage from. Will post the results(I hope)
